Hit-and-Run Accident Injures Elderly Man in Tuolumne County

An elderly man was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Chicken Ranch Road in Tuolumne County last week. The injuries he suffered have been reported as not life-threatening. The driver that caused the accident was racing northward on Chicken Ranch Road, possibly after leaving the Chicken Ranch Casino. It is unclear why the driver was speeding, but he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the elderly driver. When the vehicles came to a stop, three people inside the speeding car fled the scene of the car accident. California Highway Patrol officers were able to find all three suspects without much incident, one of whom was a teenage girl. Although one of the passengers was charged with illegal drug possession, it is not believed at this time that the driver of the vehicle was impaired or intoxicated when the crash occurred.
